Hi my name is Tina Smoot Vanderpluym, a native from the Salinas Valley.  The Chocolate Dipper opened in 1983 when I was a freshman at Salinas High School and was the sweetest spot in town.  I can remember back then; going to the chocolate dipper during lunch time and after school for all my sweet tooth cravings.  I loved the Chocolate Dipper so much that my husband Donald and I have been the owners of the Chocolate Dipper since May of 2006. We have four employees that work for us. Donald and I have been married for 15 years and have two wonderful children.

In addition to our sweet history, we offer a lot of handmade items ranging from chocolates, apples, custom flavors, gift baskets/boxes, strawberries, and even sugar-free delights.  Our quality handmade chocolates made from Guittard’s premium chocolate include nut varieties, truffles, creams, and some even include our homemade caramel.

We don’t just pride ourselves on making great candy but we also involve ourselves in helping the community with our fantastic apple fundraisers.  We have helped many teams, organizations, and schools throughout the Monterey County.

My husband and I would like to extend our gratitude to all of our customers, family, and friends for all of their hard work and dedication to our store.
